Pioneers in ECU Re-coding

Only Tuner in India with programming

Wolf Moto- FAQ

What is an ECU remap ?

Modifying the values stored with ECU maps or re-programming the ECU maps can be called as remap. Maps are data which the ECU uses to manage the vehicle. Normally when a car is tuned, the tuner modifies the variables of the existing maps to deliver more power. He does not do any custom programming.

What is an ECU re-coding ?

To recode the tuner needs to know the entire ECU code and when a recode is done he modifies the ECU code itself. This means that with a recode the options available are limitless. Any new functionality can be coded including features like map switch, No lift shift, Launch control etc. The recode also allows the tuner to access functions not available to re-mappers.

What is switchable remap?

Switchable maps are achieved by Code level programming. Wolf Moto team started by reverse engineering the OEM ECU codes and multiple maps were engineered and implanted within the stock ECU architecture. This allows the users to switch between multiple maps making it possible for the user to have the stock map along with a combination of performance maps. The user could choose between multiple maps based on the fuel quality (Octane/ cetane rating, boost pressure, driving condition etc). The user can switch between various maps using a combination of existing OEM switches and or other hardware inputs like throttle pedal etc. The customer can seamlessly switch between maps depending on personal preferences, fuel used and motorsports application.

How do you switch between maps?
Is there is physical switch?

No extra hardware is required. The switch function is programmed into a combination of existing OEM hardware inputs/ switches like Throttle pedal etc. For some models of Maruti and Fiat, please check out the below link (Video)

Will this affect my Warranty?

Most aftermarket upgrades may void your comprehensive warranty. Remap in most cases may void warranty. However, its often seen that many dealerships/ technicians do not check for remaps or often fail to identify that the ECU has been remapped. We also offer remaps that do not increment the “flash counter” for select ECU models.

Will a remap damage my car?

A good remap with appropriate changes in calibration would not cause and damage to the ECU/ vehicle. Remaps that offer significantly more power may exhibit marginally higher engine and exhaust temperature. We strive to ensure that these are within the OEM safety limits except for motorsports application like anti-lag, launch control, over-boost etc. We also advise our customers on how to take extra precaution of their engines for better performance and longevity of their engines. We also recommend shorter service intervals (especially Diesels) and periodic inspection for cars and motorcycles tuned for very high performance.

If remapped via OBD,
will this increment the Programming counter ?

A typical remap would change the remap count within the ECU. We have remap solutions for select ECU platforms that ensures the counter does not reflect remap and thus remain untraceable.

How much time will this take?

A typical remap process may take anywhere from 10 mins to about 45 minutes. Non-OBD remap procedure (Bench) usually takes longer duration of time that involves physically removing the ECU to connect wires to ECU pins for remap process.
Eg. Most VW, Skoda and Audi it takes about 5 minutes. Many Maruti diesels take about 30 mins.

Is it available in my location?

We are located in Kochi, Kerala. However, we are available at Bangalore and our remap team travels to various cities once we have a number of confirmed enquires. Check out our fb page for the upcoming travel itinerary and other updates. We are expanding our dealer / reseller network at Metros, Tier I and Tier II cities across India.
